- The image on the poster tells us that the film is going to be a ghost film. This is because behind the central protagonist, there is a dark figure. The position of the main character has half his face cut off. This could symbolise to us that they want the audience to question what could of happen to his other half of his face. From looking at the facial expression on the central protagonist, we can see that he is in deep thought and does not realise the ghost behind him. The image is showing an A-list star which is Daniel Radcliffe. They decided to put him in the movie because most of his films he has been in are thriller type of films. Therefore, he is a suitable A-list star for this movie. Therefore, this poster conveys a disturbing event for the viewers.
- The tag line appears above the title "Do you believe in ghosts". This tag line generates anticipation for the audience because it leads them to question if ghosts really exist and if so where. This therefore creates a sense of mystery because it may change peoples views of ghosts later on. This suggests the genre of horror because in horror movies there is always ghosts.
- The title appears near the bottom of the poster. This is because they want to focus on the image more rather than the title. The font of the title is in the colour white with blue lines. The white font is used because to stand out from the black background. The blue lines blends in with the lines on the ghost, but in a different colour. This is done because maybe to show that the woman can vanish, which is the same as the ghost.
- There is a website at the bottom of the poster. The website on the poster persuades the target audience who likes this type of film can go to the official site to keep updated with the information.
- There is a release date shown. This creates anticipation, a buzz for the film. This specific date tells us that there is a closer run-up to the film's release.
