Horror Conventions- THE FINAL GIRLS

• The image on the poster straight away, tells us it is a horror genre. This is because of the dark figure behind the 2 girls has a knife. The position of the 2 female central protagonists, have there backs together. The audience straight away knows that these two are the central characters in the film and probably the victims. There is also 4 people on each side, which suggest to us that they are allies to the two female protagonists. The facial expressions on the girl on the left side conveys a message to us that she maybe scared and weak. However, the girl on he right side, her facial expression is mainly on the eyes which suggest, that she is strong and not afraid.
• There is a review for the film in the top right hand corner. What this tells us about the film is that it is a "devilish" typeof film. This means that the dark figure is a devil in evil and cruelty. The word "Slasher", implies to us that its a deadly and quick film because 'slash' normally means a sweeping movement. 
• The title of the film appears under the image. It is mainly written across the 2 female protagonists which implies that they are the final 2 girls left. The size of the words "FINAL GIRLS", explains to us that there are only 2 people left.
• Underneath the title, there are 4 awards shown. These awards tells us that this film was successful in terms of horror. With t,his happening it makes an interest in the film. Therefore, this notifies the audience that the film is of a higher quality.
• The representation of this film is presented by female. This is because normally in horror films, women are weak and vulnerable and seek help from men. However, this film shows that women are strong and courageous. This tells the audience and especially men that women are not weak and can protect themselves from harm.
