Horror Conventions- The Conjuring 2

• The image on the poster tells us that there is going to be some suicides and control. This can be seen where the person is going to jump out of the window. The position of the character who is near the window has their arms out like they are ready to die. This can relate to the bright white light shining through the window. The other person, we cannot see their face and only a little of their body is showing. However, the necklace can give the audience a hint that this film is to do with God. The setting of the image is in an house which is dark due to the darkness on the floor and walls. Therefore, this image gives the audience a clue to what the type of genre this film is. This will create expectations for the audience because they want to know why people are committing suicides. 
• The title appears near the bottom of the poster. This is done because they want the audience to focus more on what is happening in the image. The size of the number '2' is big. This suggests to us that there was another film on 'The Conjuring'. The big writing therefore could explain that there is more evil things happening.
• There is a company who is involved in the making of the film. This is Warner Bros. This company is from the US and tells us this is a big-budget film.
• There is a specific release date which tells us there is a close-up to the film being release. 
• The director is famous so his name is on the poster. This is because he produced other bigger films such as 'Insidious' and "The Conjuring 2'.
