List Of Other Ways My Film May Be Marketed

For my marketing campaign for my horror/mystery film, I created a poster, teaser trailer and magazine front cover. However, there would be many other ways that would also be used to market my film as seen below:

  • There would be a series of posters, including teaser posters and posters focusing on individual characters. For example here are the different posters for the film 'The Curse of Sleeping Beauty':

  • There would also be a series of trailers- a much longer theatrical trailer that would come out just ahead of the film coming out that included more narrative information. For example here are the different trailers for "10 Cloverfield Lane":

  • A soundtrack with accompanying music video's with images from the film and a featuring artist. For example the "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" soundtrack  music done by Tobe Hooper & Wayne Bell:
  • A website that constantly updates information about the release of the film- will also feature audio and video clips. For example "Assassin's Creed" website:

  • Merchandise. For example "Iron Man"

List of websites used

During my research, I used many websites to help me with my research and planning:

  • IMDB- To gather information about existing films and cast and crew for my particular genre

  • Dafont- To find a font for my poster, magazine front cover and teaser trailer, especially  my poster
  • Impawards- To find posters to analyse and then in particular horror/mystery posters
  • Youtube- To watch existing trailers and listen to potential music for my trailer
  • Wikipedia- to find information about film magazines, target audiences and horror films

Software and Hardware used

When creating my marketing campaign I used many different forms of hardware and software to help me create my poster, teaser trailer and magazine front cover:

  • By using Blogger, it is just like Microsoft Word Document but with extra tools which you would not expect. This software, has meant that I can write each of my research and planning tasks and include images, sound clips and videos of various parts of the planning process. This has also given my content structure to follow with different posts which makes my blog look neat, even with changing the background.

  • Another software called Soundcloud was also really useful, as I was able to upload all of my audio files and sound effects but first, I had to convert it to MP3 and upload it to Soundcloud as blogger would not accept any other audio files from Soundcloud.
  • Spotify being used to create a playlist of potential songs for my teaser trailer
  • Photoshop being used for analysing existing magazines and posters and then creating my own

  • Adobe Audition 1.5 being used for recording and editing any audio for my teaser trailer- I was familiar with using this from my AS coursework.

  • Avid Media Composer which is a video editing software that I used to edit my trailer
  • Video Camera (Panasonic HDC TM900)- to record my teaser trailer
  • Photo app only on Mac being used to organise the photos I took

Actors for my teaser trailer

Victim 1- Amaani Rahman

Victim 2- Simeon Tiano

Prop, Costume And Location List

Costumes:

  • For my characters, I made sure that they wore outfits which was suitable for their role.
  • I wanted the main detective male protagonist to wear a long black jacket to represent what detectives wear and always looking smart at the beginning, and then towards the end become more and more relaxed with what he was wearing to show that he does not care about what a detective is wearing but managing to catch the killer. I did this to show a different time of day and the location.
  • For my serial killer, I wanted him to look scary, so I made the actor wear a mask to hide his identity.
  • For my minor characters, such as the chief at the police station,  they just wore what they were wearing at the time in my trailer as it was likely that they would only feature once anyways. The main detectives assistant wore a shirt and tie while looking not smart and clothes looking creased.

Prop List:

  • A bunch of sharp knives to show the serial killers weapons.
  • A map
  • A phone
  • A pen and marker

Location List:

Costa shop in Arnos Grove
My garage
A police station in Edmonton
A park in Dollis Hill
Parliament Hill
My college
